This historic 1909 Victorian, located in the heart of downtown Hays, KS, was built by a prominent Hays Entrepreneur, Justus Bissing Jr., who then sold the home to the Basgall family. The Basgall family loved and cared for the home for over 80 years. Our home is filled with antiques and antiques given to us from the Basgall family original to the house. The house then served several years as a formal Bed and Breakfast called the Tea Rose Inn. This is now our home that we'd love to share with you!
This beautiful Victorian is currently our home. We have opened up the wrap around porch, the entryway and the second floor to guests. We are a non-traditional Inn. There is free street parking directly in front of the home (13th street), a light breakfast consisting of your choice of vanilla or strawberry yogurt with homemade granola, Keurig coffee, teas, and creamers offered in suite. We encourage you to explore our downtown for a hot breakfast. We also provide 10% off coupons to The Golden Griddle (walking distance). Each suite is named after a historical person or event associated with the home. Each suite has a private attached bathroom.
